Details

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience centered on God's love, for people with special needs. It takes a lot of volunteers to make this event a success! Review the volunteer options below and register to help our night be a success! Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

Volunteer Check-In Team (5:00-6:00)
Greet volunteers, give them their name tags or lanyards and direct them to their team leaders.

Parking Team (Arrival 5:15-6:30)
Maintain a parking pattern and direct traffic for easy vehicle entry and exit. Maintain open fire and emergency lanes. Assist guests from vehicle to door, if needed.

Buddy Team (5:30-9:00)
Accompany and assist assigned guest throughout the evening, providing companionship and any assistance they may need during the event. Sit with guest during dinnertime and engage with them in conversation. 

Buddy Check-In Team (5:30-7:00)
Greet buddies, give them their name tags or lanyards and direct them to their team leader for a pre-event meeting on ensuring their assigned honored guest has the best prom experience possible.

Guest Registration Team (5:30 - 7:00)
Warmly greet guests, sign them in, give them their name tag or lanyard, and answer any questions they may have.

Greeter/Door Opener (5:30-6:30)
Enthusiastically greet guests and help them through the doors

Coat Check Team (5:30 - 6:30)
The coat check team will greet guests, take their coats, label and hang the coats.

Hair and Make-up Team (5:30-6:30)
The hair and makeup team will be responsible for pampering the guests by doing hair touch ups and little makeup additions. The team may also add glitter hairspray to the guest's hair.

Flower Team (5:30-6:30)
Help guests select and put on their corsages or boutonnieres; organize extras when done

Bathroom Attendant (5:30-9:00)
Help guests find the restroom and offer assistance if needed. If a guest requires assistance with more than getting in and out of a stall or washing hands, it is appropriate to contact their parent or caregiver for assistance.

Food Service Team (5:30-9:00)
Be knowledgeable about the food items (especially if they have dietary restrictions or allergies), and serve the food onto guests’ plates

Ice Cream Team (6:30 - 8:30)
The ice cream team will scoop ice cream into dishes for guests and will assist guests in adding the toppings of their choosing. 

Guest Check-Out (8:15-9:15)
Make sure each guest gets checked out to their correct adult

Tear Down Team (9:00-10:00)
Take down decorations, tables, chairs, etc. and clean up the event space.

Committee - Specific Roles
This category is reserved for those who have specific volunteer roles assigned directly by the lead committee. Unless you have been instructed to select this category, do not select this option - rather explore the many other volunteer roles!
